We took a holiday!!

Hi everyone! I'm very aware that I haven't posted a blog for a while now! I have no excuses, I've just had other stuff to do first! However, we did manage to take a little holiday as a family, our first holiday since little Ash came along so this one will definitely be a special one to remember. I didn't want to go on a very big, very expensive holiday because I knew we would have just as much fun with less stress by taking the simpler route and opting for a four night, mini break to Blackpool in a caravan. Now, I know caravan holidays have a lot of bad press. A lot of sites do themselves no favours but I have to say we encountered no horrors during our stay, no dirty bed sheets or damp cold bedrooms, in fact I was really impressed. We stayed at Marton Mere caravan park in Blackpool which has just had an extension which is where we were staying so it was very spacious. There was still lots of room for new caravans to arrive so the kids had a great time kicking the football around and chasing Ash around who clearly wasn't used to having so much room to run. As a child of the 80's and 90's I used to go on caravan holidays all the time when I was a kid and have so many happy memories of me, my late mum and my grandparents all having a lovey time. 

I guess this is what I had in mind for me and my own family for our 1st holiday as a family of 5! 

For anyone who is planning on staying at this caravan park in the future; I have had a really positive experience throughout our stay, the caravan itself was lovely and the site is not short on things to do for the kids such as an indoor/outdoor swimming pool, park, crazy golf and an immense amount of slot machines!!! Plus there is evening entertainment the whole family can enjoy (including a bar for mum and dad). From the time we arrived the staff were absolutely fantastic and I cannot fault them with their professional, friendly approach, and making us feel extremely welcome. 

All in all, a wonderful first family holiday!
