The one where it all ended!
**Warning, contains some Game of Thrones Spoilers**
Hi guys, how are you all?
I seem to have an evening spare this week and so I thought I would be very proactive and write this blog! I do warn you though, if your not really into Game of Thrones you're not really going to get much from this post. And, I apologise in advance if I start to ramble on a bit. I tend to go off on one when it has anything to do one of my passions! 🙈 Anyone who knows me will know how much I LOVE this programme. I spent the whole of Monday on a high knowing that the last ever episode was to air that night. I think I managed to get on everyone's nerves in work as that was all I banged on about ALL day!! Luckily they all know me really well, so just laughed and humoured me in the end. Me and Andy had the whole night planned.... all three kids were to be fed, bathed and put to bed by 8pm. We would then sit down to watch the penultimate episode with a load of Fajitas and a glass of wine before the final ever episode came on at 9. And by god did we pull it off!! When the opening credits came on I could feel the excitement build up inside me!!
Now if you're a fan, you'll know how this story ends.... It's now Wednesday and so I've had a few days to calm down and come to terms with the fact that it is what it is and there's nothing any of us can do about it. When I'm ready I'll sit and watch it again, with an open mind and hopefully I'll get it. Whatever IT is. Some fans got it the first time round. They found it beautiful and poetic. I found it rushed and was left feeling a little cheated if I'm honest. Once it had finished, Thronecast followed and the expressions on the guests faces mirrored my own. Them sounding almost as disappointed as I was. I was expecting to be WOWED! It was the last EVER episode and I dunno…. maybe I had too high expectations. But when Tyrion suggested that Bran.... 'Bran the Broken' become king, well... I had no words. Actually no that's a lie. What I actually said, directly at my TV was "are you f**king kidding me!" Don't get me wrong I liked Bran. He was cool in a weird, creepy, I'm watching you sleeping, kind of way. Did I want him to survive all 8 seasons? Yes.... Did I want him to become king of the six f**king kingdoms instead of Jon who was the rightful heir to the throne?...… No, no I did not. That said though, in true Game of Thrones fashion it has never given it's audience what was expected. That's what I love about it. It's ability to completely give us something that we weren't expecting. The Red Wedding is a prime example of this. I know that I will come to love the ending eventually, Jon ending up a free man, leading the free folk back beyond the wall. The King Beyond the Wall.
So yeah, there's my mini rant over with. I won't mention it ever again, possibly. Now then, I can't quite believe that we're almost halfway through the year!! Where the hell is the time going? This month in particular has flown by for us. It's been a pretty special month for us too. We've added another member to our family in the form of a small Cocker Spaniel Puppy, called Lucy!
We'd had her planned as a surprise for the kids for such a long time and when she finally arrived two weeks ago, the absolute joy on my kids faces was just glorious! They literally had no clue. And I have no idea how we managed to keep it a secret for so long. Secret texts, speaking in code. Evie plays on my phone and watches YouTube on it so every time my phone went off I'd do a mad dash to grab it off her before she looked at the message. I'm planning on writing a blog post dedicated just to Lucy which will be up soon. So yeah, it's been a pretty hectic kind of month.
It's also Bank Holiday weekend this weekend too which means no work for either of us, which means quality time spent together as a family. It's going to be a busy one too. Evie has been invited to the cinema for her friends birthday treat and their off to watch the new Aladdin movie which I'm super jealous about! It looks flippin fantastic!! And on Bank Holiday Monday, Me and Andy are off to the Echo Arena in Liverpool to watch Rita Ora. I cannot tell you how excited I am about this. I'm planning on taking loads of photos so will hopefully be able to put together a blog post about it. Fingers crossed.
So that's it for now. I hope you all have a lovely bank holiday and I'll be back soon.
Take care.
Good night xx
